LINYC Day 7

Day 2 of being tourist guide. I am super tired from walking around the outlet all day. Met up with Cici and Sunnie at Xian Famous Food, been wanting to try this place since I have heard of it. It exploded in NYC, big props to the son who expanded his family’s business. I got lamb burger and beef noodles, both were very good. After food, we went to take pictures around the city. I realized Sunnie is very experienced with photography and has a high standard for how she wants her pictures to turn out. Never in my life did I have to stand for so long for a picture but they did turn out good. I learned a pointer or two from her. But still, it was cold and I’m quite sure I was going to catch the flu because of them. We went shopping again because they wanted to shop for bags/purses. Girls are so indecisive, after looking at Gucci we went to LV only to end up back at Gucci to buy the first bag we looked at. Paul and Ivy met up with us later that night to get dinner, it was a Chinese crab boil and skewers place. Pretty good and price was decent. Luckily, Ivy was nice enough to offer me a ride back home to Brooklyn, was super tired and cold.

LINYC Day 6

Its Tuesday and Cici is arriving ! Haven’t seen this girl in five years. She is my mother’s close friend’s daughter. Super friendly and sincere girl whom I had a thing for but I consider her as a close friend and I am not sure if I would want to burn that bridge. Woke up and got ready to meet with Cici in the city, at first I thought we were meeting at her friends place but we are meeting at the car rental. I got there and saw her friend (the one that flew from Seattle with her) in the car and I waved, but she looked at me all confused. As I got into the rental car, I introduced myself and met Sunnie. Sunnie seemed super fob and didn’t know any English so it was difficult for me to communicate with her. We went to pick up Cici’s other friend, Paul. Paul is really outgoing and very nice at first. He introduced himself and complimented my pink hair. He thought I was a designer or in fashion which I really think I should of gotten into. Once we scooped Paul up, we headed to Woodbury outlet. I don’t necessary have anything to buy except for a heavy winter jacket, and Joanna (a close friend of mine) said that the Moncler jackets were on sale. So my mission was to get a Moncler jacket. Since I didn’t know any of them besides Cici, it was very easy to begin conversations and we had many topics. Though I still had a distant feeling with Sunnie and I felt that it was because of the language barrier. My Mandarin is quite beginner level while my Cantonese is slightly better. When we parked and got of the car, both Paul and I looked at Sunnie and patted her on the head while calling her “ke ai” because she is so small. She’s around my mom’s height, 5 nothing lmao. Paul and I went to eat first because haven’t had anything all morning and it was already 2pm. I took him to shake shack because he hasn’t had it since he’s moved to NYC. He was amazed at how good it was but he said it is like In-N-out, I was offended because Shake Shack is wayyyy better. We went to a few places then finally Moncler. At first I thought their selection was weak because it was all dark jackets and nothing really stood out until an employee came up to me and helped. She pulled out 10 different jackets that weren’t even out for display. The first one she pulled out stood out the most to me because it was the supreme red color, unfortunately it was a size too small. There was also an orange one that I liked but it was $1,900 and that was the sale price. Not much of a sale… I told them to put it on hold so I could take more time to decide and ask the girls for their opinion. Met up with Cici and Sunnie at Swarvorski and they told me not to get the jacket. :( I helped them choose earrings and a headband. While Sunnie was looking for more accessories, I chose an earring that stood out to me and surprisingly she bought it. Went to more stores, there were a lot of name brand stores but everything inside were aight. I was still looking for a jacket, at the end of the night I found one but it wasn’t a winter jacket. I bought it anyways because it was only $200 and it kind of stands out. Went to queens for dinner, it was a skewers hot pot and it was not bad, something new for a change. That wraps up day 1 with them .

LINYC Day 5

10am right now and I just awoken from a dream. In the dream, I was stuck in the past (around 25 years before I was born). I was in a scenery that was sort of the old village days where the roads were still dirt and everyone hungout at one spot. I notice a very familiar face walk past me and it was my grandpa. I couldn’t help but ball my eyes out when he smiled at me, I wanted to tell him that he was going to live a great life and how well I was doing but I couldn’t make a sound. Things got a little crazy after because I noticed a bunch a woman working together and the sign name was written in filipino. Surprisingly I saw my grandma there and Christina’s grandma, laughing and having fun. For a moment I thought, could I be filipino? But that’s ridiculous because I don’t resemble anything, unlike Christina’s grandma who has a really dark skin tone. Went to Flight club to sell my Chicago 1s because they were half a size too small and surprisingly the guy said I can sell them for $350. Went to union square park and sat there getting stuff done to prepare for job applications and preparing for interviews. I called Sandy to get dinner since she was almost off work. Sandy, Val, and I went to Ippudo and it definitely did not disappoint me. Although, it was quite pricey $15 for a bowl and I add extra noodles for $2. As Sandy and I was walking home after getting off the train, I pointed at this Japanese restaurant where Gary said it his is “spot”. Then Sandy goes, “Isn’t that him right there?” We went inside and ended up having more food and drinks with Gary and his friend Julian. We had at least 5 beer and 5 sake, best part, alcohol wasn’t on the tab. Went to Gary’s house for a bit and had about 2 more shots, I was already drunk. Sandy assisted me as we walked home.
